When a voltage regulator is not in use, it should be stored in a suitable environment. The storage location should ideally be dry and well-ventilated, shielded from prolonged direct sunlight, and free from areas prone to water ingress or high humidity. Temperature and humidity levels should be maintained within the ranges specified in the equipment manual to minimize adverse effects on internal electronic components and insulation materials.

Before storage, disconnect the voltage regulator from the power supply and load equipment, and inspect the exterior for any damage. Clean off any dust or stains from the surface before storing the unit. For equipment that will remain unused for an extended period, inspect components such as power cords, terminals, and switches to ensure there are no obvious defects.

During storage, take precautions against dust, moisture, and mechanical impact. Do not place heavy objects on the voltage regulator or store it alongside corrosive chemicals. If the unit requires packaging, use the original packaging or suitable dust-proof materials, while ensuring adequate ventilation to prevent moisture buildup inside the package.

If a voltage regulator is to be put back into service after long-term storage, do not connect it directly to a load. Before use, inspect the exterior, wiring, and insulation; then, perform a power-on check as specified in the manual. Connect the load equipment only after confirming that the input and output voltages are normal. Proper storage and reactivation procedures help minimize malfunctions caused by prolonged idleness and extend the service life of the voltage regulator.
