The manufacturing process of a transformer is complex, involving multiple stages such as design, material processing, winding fabrication, core assembly, and insulation treatment. Before manufacturing begins, specific structural details and parameters must be determined based on the transformer's capacity, voltage rating, and operating environment. A well-conceived design ensures high operational efficiency while enhancing the equipment's safety and service life.
Core fabrication is a critical step in transformer production. It begins with cutting and processing silicon steel sheets according to design specifications; these sheets are then neatly stacked to form the complete core. Precision in processing and quality in stacking are paramount; significant gaps or improper assembly can increase magnetic losses and impair the transformer's normal operation.
Winding fabrication involves winding copper or aluminum wire into specific shapes and turn counts as dictated by the design. During this process, factors such as coil arrangement, winding tension, and inter-layer spacing must be strictly controlled, and insulation measures must be implemented to prevent short circuits between coils. Once the windings are formed, they undergo drying, insulation treatment, and assembly to ensure they can withstand the voltages and temperatures encountered during normal operation.
The final stages involve overall assembly and quality testing. For oil-immersed transformers, the active part is placed into the tank and filled with treated transformer oil, whereas dry-type transformers require specific insulation and cooling configurations. Finally, the transformer undergoes rigorous testing for insulation performance, withstand voltage, temperature rise, and power losses. With advancements in manufacturing technology, automated production equipment and digital testing techniques are increasingly employed, further enhancing manufacturing precision and product reliability.
