Wenzhou Mingyue Electric Co., Ltd. manufactures this Outdoor Dry Type Transformer for open-site applications. The main difference is its outdoor enclosure. A standard dry-type transformer is normally installed indoors and needs protection from rain and direct sunlight. This unit uses a rainproof cabinet for outdoor installation. The cabinet is made of sheet metal, and the top has a sloped roof that allows rainwater to run off instead of collecting on the surface.
The protection level reaches IP54, providing protection against dust and rain. It is suitable for construction sites, solar power stations, and outdoor power distribution points. The capacity ranges from 50kVA to 2,000kVA. Both three-phase and single-phase versions are available according to the application.
Copper Windings and Cooling Choices
The transformer uses pure copper windings with two winding options: copper foil and copper wire. Copper foil provides a high fill factor and can provide higher power within the same available space. Copper wire is easier to bend and is suitable for coils with irregular shapes.
The insulation class is available in two options. F class has a temperature rating of 155°C, while H class has a temperature rating of 180°C. The standard cooling method is natural air cooling, which uses airflow to remove heat from the transformer. For large-capacity units or installations where cabinets are placed close together, fans can be added for forced-air cooling.
Three-phase units use Yyn0 or Yd11 connection groups, while single-phase units use Ii0. The voltage ratio can be customized. Common ratios include 400V to 230V, 380V to 220V, 480V to 380V, and 690V to 400V.

The structure uses a high-permeability silicon steel core. The coils have yellow insulation, and copper bars connect to the output terminals. The base has shock-absorbing mounts. The Outdoor Dry Type Transformer provides voltage conversion and electrical isolation and also suppresses harmonics. Solar power stations can use it for step-up voltage conversion for grid connection, while other sites can use it for step-down voltage conversion for equipment power.
The cabinet is available in three versions: an indoor protection cabinet, an outdoor IP54 rainproof cabinet, and a bare unit. The capacity, voltage ratio, and connection group can be customized according to your requirements. The Outdoor Dry Type Transformer can be configured according to the required installation environment and electrical specifications.
