Step-Up Is Just the Winding Ratio Reversed
Wenzhou Mingyue Electric Co., Ltd. manufactures this Variable Step Up Transformer for sites that require a higher voltage. Step-up and step-down transformers use the same basic principle, but their winding turns ratios are different. A step-down transformer has more turns on the input side and fewer on the output side, while a step-up transformer has fewer input turns and more output turns. This SG series three-phase dry-type unit is used to increase the voltage from the available supply to the required level.
For example, some machines require 480V while the site power supply is 380V. This unit increases the voltage to the required level. Solar power systems may also require a higher voltage for grid connection. The capacity ranges from 10kVA to 500kVA. The input and output voltages can be configured according to your site conditions.
Common Step-Up Plans and Strong Inside Parts
Common voltage combinations include 380V to 480V for imported equipment, 400V to 690V for some industrial motors, and 220V to 380V for applications that require conversion from a single-phase supply to a three-phase system. You can provide your site voltage and equipment requirements, and we can match the required voltage configuration.
The winding uses pure copper. Copper has good electrical conductivity and helps reduce heat generation. Two winding methods are available: copper foil and copper wire. Copper foil provides a high fill factor and allows more power within the same space. Copper wire is easier to bend and can be used for coils with different shapes.
The insulation class is F, with a temperature rating of 155°C. The standard cooling method is natural air cooling, which uses airflow to remove heat. No fan is required for standard natural cooling. For applications with large capacities or limited cabinet spacing, cooling fans can be added for forced-air cooling. The connection group supports Yd11 and Yyn0. Yyn0 is the standard option, while Yd11 can be used when phase shift or harmonic resistance is required.
Rainproof Cabinet for Outdoor Work
The cabinet is available as an outdoor rainproof enclosure. It uses sheet metal with a sloped roof, allowing rainwater to run off instead of collecting on top. The protection level reaches IP54, helping keep out dust and rain. The panel has an analog voltmeter and start/stop buttons. A door lock is also provided to restrict access. The unit is suitable for outdoor applications such as construction sites and solar power stations.

The structure uses a high-permeability silicon steel core. The coils have yellow insulation, and copper bars connect to the terminals. The base has shock-absorbing mounts. The Variable Step Up Transformer provides voltage conversion and electrical isolation and also suppresses harmonics. Solar power stations can use it for step-up grid connection, while other sites can use it for step-down equipment power. The cabinet is available in three versions: indoor protection cabinet, outdoor rainproof cabinet, and bare unit. The capacity, voltage ratio, and connection group can be customized according to your requirements.
